Phuket Old Town is known for its rich history and cultural significance. But what many travelers don't realize is that this part of Phuket also offers an exciting nightlife scene, with live music and great vibes.
During my recent trip to Phuket Old Town, my friends and I were determined to explore the local bars and immerse ourselves in the town's unique nightlife. We landed at Phuket International Airport around 9 pm and made our way to Blu Monkey Hostel, located in the heart of Old Town.
After a bit of a struggle with the Blu Monkey Hostel's front door, which was locked for security purposes, we finally made it to our room. We quickly changed and showered, eager to hit the town. Our first stop was a speakeasy-style bar called Cosmos, where we enjoyed drinks and live music from a cover band.
We made friends with the locals sitting next to us, who didn't mind including us in their double date. We also met a Thai man who spoke Spanish and shared his experiences of living in Colombia with us. As the night progressed, we found ourselves singing along to popular Thai songs, including our favorite, "ทักครับ" by Lipta.
Next, we headed to เธอ Ther, a two-story bar with an open concept towards the outdoors. We went from table to table, cheering and creating good vibes since communication through words wasn't an option. We even tried to get Jake, our friend who is a talented guitarist, on stage to perform, but it didn't happen. Nevertheless, we continued to bring good vibes to every table we visited.
Our final stop was เพลินจิต X Phuket, where we encountered a group of locals who invited us to drink with them. They were impressed when Jake chugged a pitcher of beer, and we all laughed and had a great time. We joked that Jake had trademarked the chug in Phuket, Old Town, for all we know: we made history that night.
Looking back on our night out in Phuket Old Town, we spent a total of around $40 USD, which was well worth the memories we made. From the friendly locals to the live music and good vibes, it was an unforgettable experience that we would recommend to anyone visiting Phuket.
